Connie and Rilda waiting to meet Renae and Danae at the LAX
We used to call Renae "Bernie Bee" when she was little. Connie's sign
says, "Welcome Bernie Bee" and Rilda's sign says, "Welcome Bernie Bee's Bebe!"
Bebe is Baby in Spanish. |

Rilda had a boa of red feathers. It has been two weeks and we still find
red feathers in the car and in the apt. |

NOVEMBER
BIRTHDAYS
Happy Birthday Dear Lisa—November 8—40+ years old!
A SPECIAL
THANK YOU TO ALL THE VETERANS, BOTH LIVING AND DEAD WHO HAVE SACRIFICED SO MUCH
FOR OUR FREEDOMS.
MISSIONARY
WORK
Our weeks have
been fairly the same. We have been asked
to do other tasks other than the proselyting work we enjoyed in the past. We are substituting at the Los Angeles Temple
Visitors Center during November and December.
The Hardys went home and their replacements won’t be here until after
Christmas. We have also been inspecting many many missionary apts. We are also trying to keep our missionary
efforts going. But come January we will
be back to our regular schedule. We are
enjoying doing something different but we do miss working with the non
members and less active members more.
Jorge and
Marisol Arzu’s son came home and that was such a happy time for their
family. They all came to part of church
Sunday and that was a red letter day for them.
It was so good to have them there altogether and see how the ward
members embraced them and welcomed them.
We are still meeting with them and the elders are still teaching the
father, Jorge. Hopefully he will be
ready to be baptized the end of November.
The elders are
still visiting with Sylvia Campos. She
still comes to church but doesn’t seem to be ready to be baptized. We are going to try to teach her again.
Irma Xicaparic
has been sick and has had company. We
haven’t been able to visit her but the elders have started teaching her again
and she has committed to baptism the middle of December. We are so excited about that.
We were able to
meet with Andres Ascension again. He has
been very busy with his work and has been worried about being laid off and
hasn’t had time to read the Book of Mormon like he planned.
We are still
teaching Roberto Cartegenas about the Book of Mormon and he seems to be
progressing. He helps with the scouts on
their activities and seems to enjoy that.
FUN
TIMES
October 31 my
sisters Rilda, Renae, and Renae’s daughter, Danae, came to see us. We had a great time laughing and
visiting. It has been many, many years
since we were together and we had so much fun we will have to do it again
sometime. We went to “the happiest place
on earth,” Disneyland. We went and saw
the space shuttle, Endeavor, and a Cleopatra exhibit. We then went to the Santa Monica pier and
waded in the ocean and had so much fun feeling young again. Rilda wanted to eat with a view of the ocean
at sunset. We did that at the Bubba Gump
Shrimp Restaurant. We also celebrated
Renae’s birthday there. We shopped at
“The Alley” and at the Citadel Discount Mall.
If you shop with Renae you “shop till you drop.” The problem is –she never drops!! They went home to work and I went back to
Missionary Work so we could get some rest.
We played till we were exhausted…....great times.
I think my 60 + mother is a bigger party animal than I am!!!
