Happy Birthday Dear Chance, March 29—11 years old! Missionary Work We had a Family Home Evening on Baptism with the Vasquez family this week. There is such a sweet feeling in their home. Hna. Vasquez is so sweet with her two children. They were a fun family to have home evening with. Leticia is 6 years old and is so animated and excited about life. Abel is 8 years old and is so dedicated to choosing the right. They invited us back this week for dinner and another home evening. Leticia said we could sit in her place and she could sit at her little play table and chairs. We visited with Jorge Arzu (the father). He was pretty down worrying about his family. We gave him a lesson on prayer and he is already practicing what we had previously taught him. We told him we had been praying for him and his family and he was very appreciative. We asked if it was okay for us to attend court this week when Jorge (the son) goes before the judge. He said yes, so we are doing that this Wednesday. We feel we will have to get permission from President Baker to do this. I hope Jorge gets a chance to be free to come home since this is a first offense. We went with the elders to visit the Mejia and Tecuapetla familia. The Elders gave a lesson on eternal marriage to them. Hna. Tecuapetla is a member and Hno. Mejia is thinking about getting baptized. He has to get a divorce from his wife in Guatemala and marry Hma. Tecuapetla before he can be baptized. We met Adrian and Brenda Genis this week. She has been a member and lived in the U.S. her whole life. He has been a member less than a year. They are working towards going to the temple. Yesterday we went and bought a blow up bed, pillows, and a quilt for our visitors who will be arriving next weekend and we hope in the weeks to come!!! |
Nice to hear that you are doing so well. Did you get the address for Max Prescott? As I mentioned we see him at the Manhattan Temple on Tuesdays. We are doing well and enjoying our work. As we get to know the YSAs better we are amazed to learn how many are here illegally. I suppose that you come across the same thing.
